Welcome to Copa de Naciones Vela Panamericana

This event is being organized by the Mexican Sailing Federation and hosted by Vallarta Yacht Club in conjunction with Paradise Village Marina and Resort.  It is intended that this event facilitate the preparation of the site for the Pan American Games being held in October, 2011 in respect to effectiveness, efficiency, safety and security.  Additionally, this championship will allow competitors to become more familiar with the waters of Banderas Bay, where the winds typically range from 12 - 20 knots during the afternoon, thus providing near perfect sailing conditions for the various fleets invited to participate.  This event is sanctioned by PASAF  who is encouraging the olympic class fleets to participate.
For many of the classes, this event will serve as an eliminatory for the Pan American Games, 2011.
